Menopause, menstrual cups, vulva, endometriosis, abortion, and UTI aren’t bad words…
So why are these topics censored by Meta, TikTok, Google, and Amazon?
From account suspensions to content removal, Meta, Amazon, TikTok, and Google are suppressing content on sexual and reproductive health for women and people of diverse genders.
“Censorship has impacted our ability to reach a wider audience on social media, which is preventing people from receiving potentially life saving sexual health information.”
Center for Intimacy Justice’s new 2025 report is the most comprehensive, publicly available investigation to date on Big Tech’s suppression of sexual and reproductive health information for women and people of diverse genders.
We analyzed experiences of 159 non-profits, businesses, and content creators that serve people in over 180 countries exploring the tumultuous landscape of digital suppression across Meta, Amazon, Google, and TikTok.
We believe that every person deserves access to the information they need to maintain their sexual and reproductive health – from information about self-screening for breast cancer to having safe and pleasurable sex during menopause. When we block information supporting women and people of underrepresented genders online, we are encouraging stigma, bias, and discrimination offline.
Big Tech can’t block us now.
